Declaration Status: (Traffic Light System)

The declaration will move through various states on its way to being approved by Customs. These statuses operate on a Traffic Light system showing Green, Amber, or Red. The following statuses are the most commonly shown during the process of creating and amending an ENS.

DRAFT

This is when a Declaration has been created but has not yet been submitted to Customs.

CREATE SUBMITTED

This indicates that the declaration has been successfully created in the CARGOES system but has not yet been sent to Customs. This will show immediately after creation but should only be displayed for a moment as once the request has been sent it will change to “Queued for Create”.

QUEUED FOR CREATE

This means that the request to create the declaration has been sent to Customs. Please note, it is not uncommon for this status to show for 20-30 minutes before a response is received.

CREATE ACKNOWLEDGED

This indicates that the declaration has been received by Customs and that they currently being assessed.

CREATE APPROVED

This means that the declaration has been successfully authorised by Customs.

AMEND SUBMITTED

If required to amend any of the information to the declaration once it has been submitted, this status will show once the declaration has been re-submitted. This signifies that the Amendment has been successfully registered to the CARGOES system but has not yet been sent to Customs. This status should only show for a moment as once the request has been sent it will change to “Queued for Amend”.

QUEUED FOR AMEND

This means that the request to amend the declaration has been sent to Customs. Please note, it is not uncommon for this status to show for 20-30 minutes before a response is received.

AMEND APPROVED

This means that the amendment to the declaration has been successfully authorised by Customs.

CREATE FAILED

This status means that the system has automatically picked up an error within the declaration. It may be that some information is still missing and/or has been completed incorrectly. Once user opens the declaration, the error message(s) are displayed at the top of the declaration screen for information so user can make corrections. You will be required to amend the declaration and re-submit it to Customs once the fault(s) have been corrected.

CREATE REJECTED

This is displayed when Customs have reviewed the declaration and have rejected it. It may be due to some information being missing, or that the declaration was not submitted before the cut off point before departure.

Once the declaration has been submitted/amended, the following screen will be displayed. The status can be seen from the main dashboard on the right-hand side of the list of each declaration created.
